Ubidrop 2.0 is here! Send BIG files, send Mac to Mac, Android to Android and more...
Ubidrop 2.0 is here with a lot of improvements. After listening to your feedback, this release improves all existing features and fixes all issues you had with Ubidrop. This is a free update to all existing customers.
A polished new look on Mac
The Mac app will feel right at home with a more Apple-y look. There is also a confirmation sound when a file is received, so you don’t have to be checking the progress every now and then.
There are a lot of little UX improvements here and there, such as a notification with the progress of the receiving file and much more.
Support for sending and receiving BIG files
The biggest issue by far people have about Ubidrop so far is that it could no reliably send big files. As smartphones can capture crazy high quality videos these days, this is now a must, not a nice have anymore.
Starting from Ubidrop 2.0 you can now send any number of files, of any size. This is supported for both Mac and Android. Happy sending!
Send from Mac to Mac, from Android to Android
Ubidrop started off as a file transfer app between Mac and Android. Even though the combination was a great start, there is no real reason for Ubidrop to now work across devices of the same kind.
Ubidrop 2.0 allows you to share files between computers or mobile phones and tablets.
PS: Ubidrop on Android is free and requires no license. You can use it to share files with your friends, even if they don’t have a Ubidrop license.
Click to interrupt sending
You can now stop the sending of files by tapping on the device you are sending to.
1 tap to send, 2nd tap to stop the transfer.
Ubidrop for Apple Silicon is now available
Ubidrop now supports running natively on Apple Silicon Macs and Intel Macs alike.

Ubidrop is now a perpetual license
There has been a lot of confusion about the license of Ubidrop. The original terms where you pay once, and you can use Ubidrop forever. However you would only get free updates for a year.
To make things simpler, Ubidrop is now a perpetual license. This means that you buy a license and you can use the software forever and get all updates for free. That’s it.
Note here that there might be a time if the future where a major update will come. Think of this like big Windows OS updates that happen every few years. Such an update would bring significant changes to the way the software works or the amount of features it brings. That significant update will require a new license, similar to how you purchase a new copy of Windows.
Such new update will come rarely, if ever. Plus, if you have already purchased a license, you will be able to update your license to the new version of Ubidrop at a discounted price.
